This side plate by Spode England features a scalloped edge with a vibrant teal & deep green/black border of birds, flowers & leaves.  The outer edge of the plate is finished in gilt detail & the well is plain white with a border that beautifully sets of the decoration.    Dimensions: 16cm

Despite extensive research I have been unable to identify the pattern which leads me to believe while the pattern may not be rare, it is certainly scarce.

The backstamp dates the plate to the period c1956-1960, when the the importance attached to the name Bone China in the U.S. market caused the replacement of “Copeland” with “Bone” in a green stamp. (source: Spode Society UK)
