VINTAGE SIAM STERLING SILVER NIELLO FAN BROOCH

This stunning fan-shaped Siamese Sterling Silver Niello brooch is a wonderful example of its type & is in extremely nice condition.  The decoration depicts Mekhala, the Goddess of Lightening & Ramasoon, the God of Thunder, amidst the Niello background; Niello is a black composite mixture that is fired & used as an inlay between engraved lines in the metal.  Please note returns will not be accepted based on the condition as described & shown in the photograph.  Please contact me prior to purchase if you require any further information or photos.

Notes on condition: 

  • The soft metal of the pin has bent slightly over time;
  • The round safety catch opens to allow the pin to release & the brooch to be worn, however it is quite tight.  While this will require perserverence, it does mean the brooch will remain securely fastened when worn.
  • We have not cleaned the rear of the brooch – this will be left for the purchaser to undertake if they choose.
