This is a very special English fine china trinket box from Abbotsbury Swannery in Dorset, England, featuring a pair of Mute Swans on the lid.
It is accentuated with gilt bands on the edge of the lid and base and is in excellent condition with no damage or restoration. Dimensions: 8cm diameter x 4.5cm high
Abbotsbury Swannery is a 25 acre “free-flying” sanctuary that is home to a colony of 600 nesting Mute Swans. The Swannery was established by the Benedictine Monks during the 1040s & has also been used as a location for Harry Potter filming.
