The coin was struck by the Royal Australian Mint in 1970, to celebrate the Bicentenary of Captain James Cook’s arrival in Botany Bay in April 1770.  The coin is copper nickel & was designed by Arnold Machin & Stuart Devlin.  It is uncirculated & comes with its original perspex presentation case.  It has been in my collection since new.

Notes on condition – as returns will not be accepted based on the condition as described & shown, please contact me prior to purchase if you require any further information:

  • the perspex case has scratches & wear commensurate with age;
  • the price has been discounted as there is a mark in the map of Australia, on the front of the coin; and
  • please view the photos included with the listing as these form an integral part of the description.
