The race was first run in 1924, so this is a unique opportunity to acquire a copy of the book in preparation for the race’s 100th anniversary next year.
John Needham Huggard Brennan wrote this book under his pseudonym ‘John Welcome’. He was a lawyer who wrote a number of books about horse racing and also edited a number of stories with author Dick Francis.

- there is considerable foxing which is contained in the most part, to the outer edges of the pages (see last 3 photos);
- the inside front flap of the dustjacket has been cut diagonally (see 3rd photo)
- the dustjacket has ‘chipping’ and wear, commensurate with age; and
