This sought after book by Andre Jousseaume, covers the preliminary training of the young horse through to the most elaborate and specialised form of dressage (Haute Ecole).
Andre Jousseaume (1894 – 1960) was a graduate of Saumur and a cavalry officer. He won individual silver and was a member of the French gold winning dressage team at the 1932 Olympics.
During the war, he was captured and imprisoned, where the first draft of this book was written.
After the war, Jousseaume won silver and was a member of the gold medal dressage team, at the 1948 London Olympics. He then took bronze at the Helsinki Olympics in 1952.
