Matching pair of genuine Staffordshire “Wally” Dogs dating to c1920, by Lancaster & Sons, Hanley (of the Staffordshire Potteries). They are a wonderful example of their type; cream in colour with brushstrokes of gold flecks over the fronts. They have crazing present which adds to their charm & have their collar & chain with padlock; tails are curled around the back legs at the base.

The price is discounted as there is some damage: The dog on the right of the pair is missing one of its red glass eyes.  The dog on the left has a hairline crack near the hole on the base; the crack is on the base only and does not extend to the body of the dog or detract from the overall look. There is some minor rubbing to the paint around the muzzle.  In spite of this they are highly desirable & in very good condition for their age.   Please read the description & view the photos carefully as returns will not be accepted based on the condition as shown & described.

Dimensions: 26.5cm H x 15cm across base.
