This stunning Cobalt blue goblet features an etched silhouette of Martha Washington amidst a ribbed & diamond quilted finish. It has the 3 mould lines on the foot, which confirm that it is a genuine American item. The item should be handwashed and is not suitable for use in a dishwasher.
Fostoria produced a set of 3 pieces for Avon (USA), to celebrate America’s Bicentennary on 4 July 1976, which was the 200th anniversary of the adoption of the Declaration of Independence. The other 2 pieces are a goblet with George Washington’s silhouette & a water pitcher depicting Mt. Vernon. The company was established in 1887 & at its height of production in the late 1940s, became the largest manufacturer of handmade glass in the United States.
