A rare opportunity to acquire a stunning antique art deco Majolica Basket-weave Teapot c1920-1940.

This is a beautifully proportioned and balanced teapot in the classic art deco shape which would make a wonderful addition to any collection.

The backstamp is quite rubbed (please see image in the photo section), however  Jan-Erik Nilsson of Gotheborg identifies it as  “K”, Hand painted Japan (unknow ); K could possibly stand for Kyoto with a tentative date of 1920-40″.      With this in mind and based on similar designs with the striped artwork on the handle, we have attributed the teapot to MITSUI BUSSAN KAISHA with the ‘K’ of the mark possibly standing for KAISHA.

With the exception of a minor chip on the underside of the spout (see photo), the teapot is in perfect condition and would be a fabulous addition to any collection.
  • Tip of spout to edge of handle: 23cm
  • Width across top: 16cm
  • Height from base to top of knob on lid: 15.5cm
Due to the fragile nature, size and packaging required to get it to you in the same condition as described and pictured and flat rate postage already paid, we have factored this cost into the price of the item.
